Day-by-day itinerary

Welcome to South Africa!
Upon arrival at Johannesburg International Airport, your English-speaking representative welcomes you, assists you and provides you with your travel documents. You then take your flight directly to Nelspruit, northeast of Johannesburg, near numerous national parks and reserves.
Upon arrival, a transfer takes you to your accommodation in Hazyview, in the Blyde River Canyon region.
You settle in for two nights at Summerfields Rose Retreat & Spa. Its peaceful setting lends itself to a romantic getaway, with attention paid to comfort, relaxation, and quality time together.
Activity suggestion during your stay: a scenic hot air balloon flight over Blyde River Canyon.

Discovery of Blyde River Canyon
After your breakfast, you head out for a guided day discovering the Blyde River Canyon. Located between Sabie and Hazyview, your lodge is an ideal starting point for exploring the region's sites.
The canyon is distinguished by its lush subtropical vegetation and its deep, steep cliffs. All around, forests and mountain waterfalls make up the landscapes.
Between Graskop and the Blyde River Canyon, you discover the Berlin Falls and the Lisbon Falls, the latter being among the largest in the region. Before reaching these cascades, several natural sites mark your discovery: Bourke's Luck Potholes, Three Rondavels, Pinnacle Rock and God's Window.
At the end of this day, you return to your lodge.

Change of scenery!
Hazyview → Shishangeni (Kruger National Park)
After breakfast at your lodge, you are transferred to the Kruger National Park. Your stay continues in the heart of the South African bush.
An emblematic safari destination in Afrique du Sud, the park is home to the Big Five. Staying in a bush camp allows you to enjoy the tranquility of this wild region and experience nature up close.
You settle in for two nights in a Classic Suite at Lukimbi Safari Lodge, on full board, with tea, coffee, wine and local beverages included.
At the end of the day, you leave for your first sunset safari, before returning to the lodge for dinner.

The savanna calls you!
You enjoy a full day at the camp, punctuated by two safaris, at dawn and at sunset. Between outings, meals, snacks and refreshments await you, accompanied by the sounds of the bush.
Indicative program for the day:
5:30 a.m.: wake-up call and morning tea.
6 a.m.: departure for the morning safari.
9 a.m.: return to camp for breakfast.
1:30 p.m.: lunch.
3 p.m.: tea and snacks.
3:30 p.m.: departure for the afternoon safari, which continues until sunset.
7:30 p.m.: return from safari, aperitif around the Boma, then dinner.

Luxury Tent Stay and Sunset Safari
Parc National Kruger → Makalali
You start the day with an early morning safari. Upon your return, a generous brunch awaits you before leaving your lodge.
You are then transferred to the Makalali private reserve, located in a remote region of the Limpopo province, west of Kruger National Park.
You settle in for three nights in a luxury tent at Garonga Safari Camp, on full board, with tea, coffee, wine and local beverages included.
After some rest time, you head out for your first sunset safari in the reserve.

Safaris at Makalali
At Makalali, you discover the biodiversity and natural wealth of the African savanna. Your accommodation offers viewpoints to observe the Big Five, as well as rare birds and mammals in the region. You explore the landscapes they inhabit and the trails they roam.
Safaris punctuate your stay, with one outing in the morning and another in the afternoon, aboard open Land Rovers. You set out in search of the Big Five: elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and rhinoceros, white or black. You can also observe cheetahs, hippopotamuses, crocodiles, spotted hyenas and African wild dogs. Zebras, giraffes and several species of antelope also populate these plains.
In the morning, a break in the bush allows you to have tea or coffee accompanied by snacks, as the animals wake up. During the evening safari, you enjoy a cocktail or glass of wine at sunset, according to the tradition of safari outings.
Other included activities are possible: walking safaris, cultural walks or solitude walks.

Early morning safari and return to Johannesburg
After a coffee and some pastries, you head out for your last sunrise safari. You get to enjoy the savanna and wildlife of Makalali one more time.
After brunch, you check out of your safari tent. You take time to say goodbye and thank your rangers, trackers and camp staff, before your transfer to Hoedspruit.
You then take your flight to Johannesburg. Upon arrival, a transfer takes you to the Peech Hotel, where you settle in for the night. The rest of the day is free.

Discovery of Johannesburg and departure
After your breakfast, your driver-guide will pick you up at your accommodation. Depending on the time available before your flight, you can discover the Apartheid Museum, then the trendy neighborhoods of Maboneng and 44 Stanley.
You are then transferred to Johannesburg's OR Tambo international airport for your return flight to France.

Passport
To enter South Africa, your passport must be valid for a minimum of 30 days after your planned end date of stay and must have at least two consecutive blank pages for immigration stamps.
The document must be in good condition (no damaged, torn or altered pages).
Tourist stay without visa
Nationals of the European Economic Area, Switzerland and Canada benefit from a visa exemption for tourist stays in South Africa.
This exemption allows a stay of up to 90 days upon entry to the territory. This stay cannot be extended beyond this period without specific administrative procedures with the South African Department of Home Affairs.
The authorities may also request:
a departure ticket from the territory (return or onward flight),
proof of sufficient financial resources for the duration of your stay,
proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation from a private individual).
Health and vaccinations
No vaccine is mandatory to enter South Africa, except if you are arriving from a country at risk for yellow fever, in which case an international yellow fever vaccination certificate may be required at entry.

malaria prophylaxis, recommended for certain regions (Kruger, areas in the north-east and north of the country),
updating your routine vaccinations (hepatitis A, typhoid, tetanus, etc.).
Travel with children
Minors must hold their own valid passport covering the duration of the stay.
South Africa applies strict rules concerning travel by minors. Any child traveling with both parents or alone with one of them must present their full birth certificate (original or certified copy). When a minor travels without one or both parents, a parental authorization letter accompanied by the identity documents of the absent parents is generally required.
In certain European countries, an authorization to leave the territory may also be required according to the regulations of the country of residence.
