Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre
This is a unique wildlife rehabilitation facility that rescues and cares for numerous wild animals from Afrique du Sud that have been abandoned, injured, or poisoned.
Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre takes immense pride in its wildlife education initiatives, and we often face the difficult decision of what to do with an injured or poisoned animal that cannot be released back into the wild. This is why we have a number of "permanent residents" at the centre, and at our own expense we use them as "ambassadors" for their respective species. The Centre operates a long-established snake breeding programme that has been remarkably successful. More than 160 snakes have been successfully reintroduced into areas where they had disappeared. We actively participate in research on leopard movements and behaviour, as well as monitoring a number of vulture species on a daily basis.
A visit to Moholoholo Centre is a "once-in-a-lifetime experience" that will leave you with unforgettable memories.
Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre
HESC is home to a number of animal species, including cheetahs, African wild dogs, lions, African wildcats, hornbills, and sable antelopes, to name just a few. Visitors can observe the resident animals at close range, within habitats that simulate their natural environments.
Visitors also have the opportunity to watch rare African vultures feeding at the Vulture Restaurant.
Cheetah Spot allows guests to observe magnificent cheetahs up close. Beyond the standard tour, the guided cheetah experience also includes a drive-through tour of the cheetah enclosure where the cheetah run takes place. This involves watching the cheetah pursue a lure, offering a thrilling spectacle of the planet's fastest animal at full speed.
