Activity suggestion during your stay: Scenic hot air balloon flight over Blyde River Canyon

Blyde River Canyon Discovery
After your breakfast today, you depart for a guided day full of discoveries of the famous Blyde River Canyon. Located between Sabie and Hazyview, your lodge is the ideal place to explore famous sites. The Blyde River Canyon is the third largest canyon in the world and the largest green canyon due to its lush subtropical foliage, with the deepest and steepest cliffs of all canyons on the planet. The region is renowned for its countless forests and mountain waterfalls. Between Graskop and Blyde River Canyon, you will find Berlin Falls as well as Lisbon Falls, which are the largest falls in the region. However, even before reaching these falls, other magical sites and natural wonders are worth visiting: Bourke's Luck Potholes, Three Rondavels, Pinnacle Rock and God's Window.
Return to your lodge.

Change of scenery!
Hazyview → Shishangeni (Kruger National Park)
After breakfast at your lodge, you will be transferred to Kruger Park, where your adventure in the heart of the South African bush begins.
The Kruger National Park is one of the greatest attractions in Afrique du Sud, a reserve that is home to the famous Big 5. This emblematic reserve is a true African safari experience and many travelers choose to stay in a bush camp. A place to feel in harmony with nature and enjoy the real peace and tranquility of this spectacular wild region.

Wildlife and beauty of the savanna
The unique wildlife of Africa represents a large part of what makes this continent such a distinctive destination, characterized by biodiversity and natural abundance. Your accommodation offers unparalleled viewpoints to appreciate the Big 5 as well as rare bird and mammal species that are indigenous to each region. We invite you to walk the same trails as these majestic animals and to explore the natural environment they inhabit. Discover a part of the world comparable to no other.
The Safaris are at the heart of the experience here at Makalali, allowing travelers to encounter the Big 5 up close. Your stay includes one safari in the morning and one in the afternoon aboard open-air Land Rovers. In addition to the Big 5: elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, white and black rhinoceros, you also observe cheetahs, hippopotamuses, crocodiles, spotted hyenas, wild dogs and plains animals such as zebras, giraffes and several species of antelope.
Enjoying tea or coffee and snacks in the bush at the awakening of animals during our morning safaris, and a cocktail or glass of wine as the sun sets below the horizon during our evening safaris, are part of the safari traditions.
Many included activities are possible, such as walking safaris, cultural walks or even solitude walks.

Safari at sunrise and return to Johannesburg
This morning after a coffee and a few pastries, you depart for your last sunrise safari. Experience once more the unforgettable savanna experience, at the heart of wild life at Makalali.
After brunch you vacate your safari tent, say goodbye and thank your rangers, trackers and the dedicated staff of the bushcamp, then you are transferred to Hoedspruit.
You then take your flight to Johannesburg.
Upon arrival, transfer and check-in for the night at Peech Hotel. The rest of the day is free.

Johannesburg Discovery and Departure
Today, after your breakfast, your driver-guide will pick you up at your guesthouse. Depending on the time you have before your flight, you will be able to discover the Apartheid Museum and the trendy neighborhoods of Maboneng and 44 Stanley.
Then you will be transferred to OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg for your return flight to France.

Passport
To enter South Africa, your passport must be valid for a minimum of 30 days after your planned end date of stay and must have at least two consecutive blank pages for immigration stamps.
The document must be in good condition (no damaged, torn or altered pages).
Tourist stay without visa
Nationals of the European Economic Area, Switzerland and Canada benefit from a visa exemption for tourist stays in South Africa.
This exemption allows a stay of up to 90 days upon entry to the territory. This stay cannot be extended beyond this period without specific administrative procedures with the South African Department of Home Affairs.
The authorities may also request:
a departure ticket from the territory (return or onward flight),
proof of sufficient financial resources for the duration of your stay,
proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation from a private individual).
Health and vaccinations
No vaccine is mandatory to enter South Africa, except if you are arriving from a country at risk for yellow fever, in which case an international yellow fever vaccination certificate may be required at entry.
It is recommended that you consult a doctor or international vaccination center before departure, particularly regarding:
malaria prophylaxis, recommended for certain regions (Kruger, areas in the north-east and north of the country),
updating your routine vaccinations (hepatitis A, typhoid, tetanus, etc.).
Travel with children
Minors must hold their own valid passport covering the duration of the stay.
South Africa applies strict rules concerning travel by minors. Any child traveling with both parents or alone with one of them must present their full birth certificate (original or certified copy). When a minor travels without one or both parents, a parental authorization letter accompanied by the identity documents of the absent parents is generally required.
In certain European countries, an authorization to leave the territory may also be required according to the regulations of the country of residence.
